简介：简述了一个金发女人地故事。容貌娇美的她，是巴黎地一个画家，拥有着一个让人羡慕的家庭。但是战争爆发，玛丽安地丈夫应召入伍，只留下母子两个人相依为命。生活的艰难，使得玛丽安经历了一些列的磨难，先是房子失火，失去了居住之地，后是接到了丈夫在前线战死的消息，无奈之下玛丽安不得不放弃了画画而沦为酒馆里面的妓女，并且得到了一个绰号“金发维纳斯”。她凭借着美貌，周旋于男人之间，本想寻找一个可以一起生活过下半辈子的人，但是那些男人们只不过把她当成了玩物。战争使得国内的民众不堪忍受，纷纷要求政府停战，他们向政府游行抗议，却受到了政府的镇压。玛丽安也带着儿子参加了这次游行，结果自己的儿子却在游行中被一名军人打死。儿子的死，让玛丽安彻底崩溃，因为儿子是她生活的唯一希望。这也引发了这个女人对世界对男人的切齿的恨。她开始了报复，利用她的美貌勾引那些不怀好意的男人，然后杀掉他们。与此同时，她也在追查那个杀死自己儿子的军人的下落，而她的线索，只是记得那个男人的军装下摆，绣着一朵金黄色的雏菊。
